Atlas Copco is a global, industrial company based in Stockholm, Sweden, with approximately 37000 employees and customers in more than 180 countries. They are known as pioneers and technology drivers, and industries all over the world rely on their expertise. Their market-leading compressors, vacuum solutions, generators, pumps, power tools and assembly systems can be found everywhere.
In Belgium, Atlas Copco has 5 subsidiaries and counts more than 3000 employees. For the Oil Free Air division in Wilrijk, Kris Beckstedde of Palpa gave a 2 days training on Power BI to 10 people. This training was organised by Eduvision, a renowned training institute that offers a wide range of professional and practical training courses, in the (combined) areas of IT, Tech and Business.
The goal of the training was to teach the basics of BI and Power BI, in order to allow the division to start using Power BI on a daily basis for their reporting.
This goal was achieved to satisfaction of the attendees, who gave Palpa a high score on the training. All aspects of Power BI came under discussion, from the importance of specifications over connecting to databases, querying with M, using DAX, creating visuals, publishing to the Power BI service and sharing reports.
“The feedback from all participants was that the flow of the training was excellent, everyone was enthusiastic about the hands-on exercises we did. And also a lot of good insights were given on how to use the different charts.” [Aretha]
In the meantime, Palpa has also done other assignments at Atlas Copco, such as the calculation of travel distances over the world of product components and the visualisation of possible cost gains.
